Okay, so it's a little hot outside this week. What better way to deal with the heat than a healthy embrace of the season? In this blog post, I'm sharing my top five favorite June items at The Linen Closet, available both in-store and online. I'm also sharing why they're so fantastic. Drum roll, please!

My favorite item's strength lies in its simplicity. It's an easy pick-me-up for yourself, and at its $17 price point, a great gift for a friend. Moreover, it has a simple ingredient line-up: Shea Butter, Mango Butter, Grapeseed Oil, Fragrance, and Arrowroot Powder. Not a fishy ingredient in sight. Though admittedly, the Warm Cashmere version of this product is by far our most popular scent (and may it ever be!) I have to say, the cooling mint and soothing lavender are kind of perfect for these hot midsummer days. Escape with me for a minute. The blend of mint and lavender creates a captivating scent that instantly reminds you of a hazy summer day. The invigorating aroma of mint, with its cool and refreshing notes, awakens the senses and invigorates the spirit. Maybe like the sipping of chilled mint tea on a sun-drenched patio. Or perhaps discovering a lush, hidden garden where the fragrant herb grows wild. Lavender, with its soft, floral essence, adds a touch of serenity to the mix. Cue picturing yourself lounging in fragrant lavender fields, the gentle breeze carrying the soothing scent across the warm landscape. Sigh. I think what I really need is a vacation!

Technically, this is more than one item, but that's beside the point. Because it's the pattern I'm in love with. I can easily imagine this beautiful, 100% linen fabric draped across a patio table or a dining room table on a summer evening while entertaining friends. The Lithuanian natural linen, with its overlay of soft, muted lavenders, blues, browns and grays, is even more beautiful in person than in photographs. It's such an intricate print, it transcends to a work of art.

I firmly believe the items that we use the most in our homes should also be the most beautiful. I easily fall head over heels for any product that makes a daily task an aesthetically pleasing one. I love ALL of my Alma Boheme oven mitts, gloves, and pot holders, so don't assume I'm playing favorites. Alma is an amazing artist who hand-makes these vegan, earth-gentle (and machine washable!) beauties. However, one stands out for long summer days and evenings, and that's the Moth pattern. In the warm evenings of summer, I think moths are creatures with an understated beauty. This print really captures their delicate, papery wings, an integral part of the summer nightscape. To me, moths invite us to pause and marvel at the wonders of the natural world, even on a simple summer night. Perfection in a pot holder.
